Awards and Commendations

In October 2007 we gained the Quality of Investing in Volunteers.
2005 was a great year for the Association. Early in the year our chairman, David Blower was nominated for the Granada Reports Local Hero competition, which was held in conjunction with the Keep Britain Moving campaign.

In 2006 he was awarded Resident of the year by the Regenda Group and also Wyre Housings resident of the year Our youngest volunteer Tish Bates won Wyre Housing Association Young person of the Year and has recently won the Tom Norton award for young People involved in Community Activities. She is also the first ever Young People’s Mayor of Wyre.
 
We were 2005 Winners of The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service; To celebrate her Golden Jubilee, The Queen announced a new, annual Award to recognise and reward excellence in voluntary activities carried out by groups in the community.
 

After several interviews Fred Talbot came to our centre and recorded a film about us which was shown on Granada Reports. We then went to the studios to film the final selection when David was awarded second place in the Granada region.
